Autism can affect anyone – a family member, a neighbor, a co-worker or a friend. In the United States, the diagnosis rates for Autism are increasing dramatically, with the state of New Jersey leading the way at 1 of every 94 persons being diagnosed with the disorder.
Despite this alarming statistic, Autism and other disorders on the “spectrum” have received very little exposure within mainstream society. Autism has become the leading disorder affecting children in the U.S., spurring a plethora of resources to be dedicated toward research of the disease and treatment for individuals and families affected by the illness.
BMI is dedicated to meeting the needs of youth who are aging out of “the system of care” and for whom services remain a vital need. At Bright Minds Institute, we are passionate about preserving the right to secure the future and advance the lives of youth and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. We offer hope, recovery and compassion while restoring each individual’s dignity and quality of life.
Our goal is to enhance lives, one person at a time, through creating quality life experiences and community integration, allowing each person to live to their capacity and to be active in civil society.
